5 REASONS TO WORK WITH A SMALL CREATIVE TEAM
Every business needs design. Actually, every business that wants to stand out and get noticed needs great design and creative services.
Marketing materials, websites, event assets, signs, the list of creative needs for a business of any size is endless. So now what? Have you found yourself searching for a logo designer, graphic designer, a web designer, a printer for this-or-that, a package designer, an car-wrap designer, an email newsletter designer, a trade show/event asset designer – whew!
There is an alternative to spending so much time finding the right people for each project. A small creative services team can create all of these things for you. Imagine having a talented team that knew your business and your vision, had your creative assets already and could just get things DONE (and make you look awesome too).
We’re with you. We know that there’s a gap between individual freelancers and high quality but expensive agencies. Freelancers are plentiful and usually inexpensive, but scalability, reliability and sometimes quality or turnaround times can be an issue. Agencies are great too, but they can be prohibitively expensive and your project may not be their highest priority.
We’ve compiled a list of reasons to find and hire a small creative services team. The list is pretty long, so we chose the 5 that we think are most important:
PEACE OF MIND.
What does that mean? It means knowing that you have a team you can trust to get the job done well the first time, who have initiative to grow your business, are experts at what they do, and will be on time and on budget. When building your team, you don’t necessarily need to hire a full time designer. But you do need to have a team that is as committed to your business as you are.
SAVES YOU TIME AND MONEY.
The point of having a creative team is so that you can do what you do best – run your business. Trying to either become your own designer or scour the creative world for people to help you with each project takes a LOT of time that could be better spent. Not only that, but you’ll save money in the long run by:
- Avoiding freelancer lag-time or disappearance
- No longer losing any files like logo assets
- Not re-explaining everything to each freelancer
- Not starting over anyway with an expensive agency
MAKING THE SALE GETS EASIER.
People are pretty savvy these days, your brand, website and marketing have to be truly engaging and consistent to your target market or you’ll miss out on the sale. Lower quality designs have a real, detrimental effect on the feeling of trust and legitimacy your clients want to buy from you.
For the more important client-facing things (like websites, logos and marketing assets), don’t accept “ok” design work. Get design that converts, gets results, makes people excited to work with you and sets you up as an authority in your space. That’s definitely worth investing in your company’s long term success with higher quality design work.
YOUR COMPANY CAN LOOK LIKE YOU PLAY IN THE BIG LEAGUES.
Have you noticed that many small companies look like large Fortune 500 companies? The difference in the perception of company size and influence is branding. Great branding is the key, if you have a good logo but your brochure looks like your nephew created it, your clients and prospects will definitely notice. It’s that important.
YOU CAN UTILIZE THE TEAM’S OTHER RESOURCES.
Creative teams have trusted resources such as printers, packaging manufacturers, sign makers, auto wrap installers, content providers and others that have proven themselves to be reliable, quality vendors. Use these relationships to save you from the let-down and cost of working with vendors who don’t pull through on cost or quality.
